One Book, One Community

The 2015 One Book, One Community selection is:

Five Days at Memorial
by Sheri Fink. 

This book describes the events at the Memorial Medical Center in New Orleans over five days after Hurricane Katrina.

Medical care is an important topic for everyone. The ethical guidelines that direct that care is something people often speak of but a subject of which most of us know little about. Using this year’s One Book, One Community book, Five Days at Memorial, by Sheri Fink, field experts Sarah Stockey, and Jason Byron, will share information and answers questions about medical ethics training and implementation in hospitals and during emergencies. The discussion will also include end-of-life directive options and how to effectively express your medical care wishes.
