Upcoming Author Talks

WHAT HAS WRITING TO DO WITH SPIRITUALITY AND ART?
Presented by Madhu Bazaz Wangu
Saturday, Sept. 24th at 11 a.m.
As an author and scholar of eastern religions and art, Dr. Wangu finds similarities between art, literature and spirituality fascinating. In this presentation she will talk about why art and religion provide aesthetic pleasure and spiritual bliss, and how the two subjects satisfy us emotionally and intellectually.  At the end of the talk, Dr. Wangu will lead a fifteen-minute mindful meditation session.  Mindful Meditation unblocks creative flow, reduces stress and increases energy.

BIRTH OF A NOVEL
Presented by Author Lois Lamanna
Thursday, Oct. 6th at 7 p.m.
Lois Lamanna talks about the struggles of writing her first book and the joy of publication. The evening will include a brief reading from her own book, Matrimony and Murder. She encourages everyone to write.

Please register at the front desk or call the Library at 412.835.2207.
