Author Talk: Carleton Young


Castle Shannon resident, Carleton Young, will discuss how finding Civil War-era letters in his family attic in Pittsburgh led him to write Voices from the Attic. 



Imagine clearing out your family attic and discovering hundreds of letters written during the Civil War. Faced with that situation, and not knowing why his family had the letters, the author uses the resources of Ancestry.com and other sources to discover how two Vermont soldiers fit into his family heritage.

Author Talk


Author Dorit Sasson will be at the Bethel Park Public Library for a free presentation on 
Wednesday, June 22nd at 7pm


Meet author Dorit Sasson of the debut memoir Accidental Soldier: A Memoir of Service and Sacrifice in the Israel Defense Forces (She Writes Press, 2016) who will do a short presentation based on the book's themes and talk about the implications for living courageously. A Q & A, and a book signing will follow. Accidental Soldier is a gut-wrenching true story of a 19-year old girl who volunteers for the Israel Defense Forces in search for independence and freedom.
