Kathryn Bashaar’s book The Saint’s Mistress is a novelization of the
relationship that Saint Augustine mentions only briefly in his Confessions.
Kathryn will talk the process of writing her book, and introduce you to
the human side of Saint Augustine and the woman he loved before he
became a father of the Church. You will also learn about the turbulent
world of the 4th and early 5th centuries, when the Roman Empire was
